No B.S. Coaching Advice

chaos, regulation, shield

Clutter | Career Angles

It seems like the more I give away, the more I have.

That may sound weird but with fewer distractions from fewer things I noticed that much more.

I don’t need to hold onto every task, every responsibility, every opinion or every thought, just because someone wants me to hold onto them.

I look for ways to get rid of things.

Years ago, I remember getting into long-winded arguments with friends online over nonsense. When I realized I was doing this, I brought an end to one of the discussions by saying, “I’m going to be unsubscribing for a while because I need to make room for something else.”

By unsubscribing, I made space to notice someone walking to my Masters program what might not have noticed in the midst of all the chaos caused by one discussion after another.

22 years later, we are happily married with the soon to be 20-year-old son.

Getting rid of emotional, mental, and physical clutter opens the door to other things.
