Running Away from Your Problems | NoBSCoachingAdvice com

As I record this, we are in the midst of the enforced hibernation caused by COVID-19. People attempt to run away from the problems. Think differently.

TRANSCRIPT

I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter, a coach who helps people professionally and personally in a number of different ways. Now, as I’m recording this, we’re pretty well hunkered down during the COVID-19 Crisis in the US.

I’ve been Pretty much indoors for about four or five days now. I’ve gone to the mailbox. I’ve gone to the store once. That’s been it.

You know, folks have a way of hiding from their problems, pretending that they don’t exist. I know for myself, there were times in life where vacillation and procrastination– I was a champion.

Yet, running away from your problems is something, it’s a race you can’t win. You know, eventually it catches up and envelops you.

During this time, in particular, I’ll just simply encourage you, you have space to do some of the things that you’ve always wanted to do. Maybe, it was that childhood fantasy that you had

about doing something in particular. Maybe it’s an idea that you’ve tabled, forgot about until I just asked this question. And you’ll probably have some time to do it. Work is going to be different, obviously, in work is going to be more camera based than is interpersonally based. The result is, I’m just going to encourage you, you know, what do you need to do? Do it. You got some time, you’re gonna have to learn new ways of doing things, right? And that’s true. Even when this crisis is over. You need to continue to learn new ways to do things and through that, become a master of your own life and of your own future.

We are related to one another. We connected, we connect with one another. We have relationships with one another and we’ve been reminded of that, particularly during this time, I’m just going to encourage you, don’t procrastinate. Do something today. A small action. Or be kind to someone. Pick up the phone and call an older individual or young child. Older individuals are pretty well in a situation where they know how to do things. Kids, there’s going to struggle and attention to a kid can make a difference.
