No B.S. Coaching Advice

Silence | Career Angles

Can you sit in silence?

Do you need to fill the silence with noise in order to function?

I noticed this morning is always doing a transcription that I had earbuds putting a podcast in my head while I was trying to think.

I fried my circuits.

Sometimes the firm my circuits with LinkedIn, Facebook and/or twitter.

Sometimes I fry them with podcasts, news, sports and other forms of distraction.

I’ve come to realize that multitasking means that I do two things at once but it less than my best.

Focus is important and, for me, silence helps me develop the concentration that allows it to unfold.

And my habit is to distract myself.

How can you design the conditions that allow you to be at your best? My answering yours may be completely different.
