Who is the most powerful gatekeeper? You know, the one you believe who really keeps you from doing things? I know who it is . . . And I bet you do, too.

SUMMARY

I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I coach people. I do job search and leadership coaching. I’m the head coach for JobSearchCoachingHQ.com and NoBSCoachingAdvice.com.
You know, I worked in recruiting for many years. I’ve helped the one men’s retreats around the country. I have an MSW. I did some Institute Training at a psychoanalytic Institute in New York. I’ve got a weird and comprehensive background.
And one thing I learned a long time ago was that there are very powerful Gatekeepers out there. And well, I’ll just simply say listening to podcasts, watching video, listening to people be interviewed on TV and elsewhere, I have learned that there is one incredibly powerful gatekeeper that keeps people from getting what they really want and that gatekeeper ,frankly, is ourselves.
What we do to gatekeep is keep ourselves from taking action because, after all “you know, you know, they’ll never listen to me!”
You know, it’s like people who want a podcast that never do. People who want to create video and never do. People who want to get up on the stage and never do. What keeps them from doing? Answer is rarely outside influences.
Its the beliefs that have been propagated between our ears that keep us from doing stuff.
I just want to encourage you very simply you got to pause that voice in your head that tells you not to do things. You’ve got to interrupted in some way from saying a bunch of stuff that frankly is designed to keep you playing small, you know.
I don’t know how it is for you but I keep thinking that my life is finite and I want to make sure that I have an opportunity to do the things I want to, achieve what I want to, help as many people as I want to and not quit, not give up because I believe that voice that someone else put between my ears and caused me to give up on myself.

There are many places I know I’m world class but there are places that I know each of us, you and me, are wrestling with. So ,my commitment to you for myself is I’ve got a big one that I’m going to start working on tomorrow. Come join me below. why don’t you write down what your big one is and see if you can get yourself to take an action tomorrow. I know I am.

So I hope you have a great day. I’m Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter.
